Have you been diagnosed with HEARTBURN, GERD, IBS, SIBO or any digestive problems?

Most of us after a certain age have all experienced symptoms like:

  • Gas and Bloating
  • Constipation
  • Heartburn/Acid Reflux
  • Burping
  • Feeling full after a meal
  • Anxiety/mood swings
  • Diarrhea
  • Stool poorly formed
  • Abdominal Cramps
  • Fatigue after eating
  • Poor Appetit
  • Stomach upsets easily

Few of those situations could be embarassing when you are out with friends or at a restaurant! So, if you are like me you went to consult your family Doctor! The chance is that if you suffer from acid reflux your Doctor will mostly prescribe you anti acid medications. It make sense for the average person! The explanation is quite simple and anyone would believe what they are told and run to the pharmacy and buy anti acid medications. Do not get me wrong I would have done the same thing if I had acid reflux. Here is the explanation from our healthcare system.

Now look at the picture above. You can see the stomach full of acid and the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is wide open. So, it is normal that the acid in your stomach will regurgitate in your esophagus and damage it. This situation could cause serious problems in the long run! The function of the (LES) is to open when the food is ready and once in your stomach it should automatically close to avoid dammage to you esophagus. The problem here is that the (LES) stay open or often weak and barely close to prevent that acid reflux. Now when a Doctor tells you that you have too much acid in your stomach and it regurgitates in your esophagus, he is right but not because there is to much acid in your stomach! First of all , the (LES) should always close after the food is in the Stomach. So,what could be the problem with the (LES)?

L.E.S stand for: lower esophageal sphincter

Why Stomach Acid Is Good For You!

"The stomach is naturally designed to secrete enough acid to turn even large meals into the equivalent of soup! It doesn't matter how much acid there is in the stomach. As long as the LES stay closed, we won't get heartburn or reflux. Remember, stomachs are built for the very purpose of containing and working with very strong acid".

Jonathan V. Wright M.D. and Lane Lenard, ph.D -Why Stomach acid is good for you!

So, for what ever reasons if we do not have enough stomach acid (the PH is also important) the (LES) will never close.

Now if you look at the picture above you have one healthy stomach and the other one is a sick stomach with GERD. Do you see the difference? The healthy stomach has a ph between 1.5 to 3.5 that is pretty acidic and can turn any meals into soup! So as you can see the L.E.S. stay close because the PH is pretty acidic. In the example of the stomach with GERD the PH is not strong enough to make the L.E.S. close.

N.B: It is important to have a good ph in your stomach while you eat. That is why you should avoid drinking 30 minutes before eating , while you eat and wait 30 minutes after your meal to avoid diluting your stomach acid.

How low stomach acid can make you sick.

Stomach acid outpout commonly declines as we age,due to a loss of the cells that produce the acid in the stomach. This condition is called Atrophic gastritis. With low stomach acid you will not be able to digest correctly your food. A poor digestion is the beginning of digestive problems like:

  • Leaky Gut
  • Allergic reactions
  • Poor absorbtion
  • Celiac Disease
  • Infections
  • Iron Defiency
  • Asthma
  • B12 Deficiency
  • Lupus
  • *IBS
  • *SIBO
  • Ulcerative colitis

*IBS: Irritable Bowel Syndrome

*SIBO: Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth

"The upper gastroinstinal (GI) system refers to the stomach and pancreas. This is one of the primary ares of dysfunction in the body. It has the highest priority in the foundations of health. " You cannot expect to resolve problems further down the digestive system without addressing stomach acidity

NB:You do not have to believe me. Do your own research and find someting that works for you! I'm not a DR.but I had a lot of digestive problems for years. Few years ago I had a lot of stomach problems. Everything that I was eating hurted me and i felt like a big knot in my stomach, even drinking water was a problem so, I felt better not eating and drinking. I then lost a lot of weight!!!!! I went from 140lbs to 110lbs in only 3 months. I have to say that at that time I was scare and was looking for help! The Healtcare system did not help me at all. I had a friend in Florida who was a Chiropractor and use Applied Kinesiology (Energy Kinesiology) as a tool to evaluate.

I spend 3 days with him, he muscle tested me and he discovered that my liver was under stress. He then prescribed me an ultrasound of the liver. He was right about my liver! I was diagnosed with an Non-alcoholic fatty liver. I then went back to Los Angeles and at that time I was also taking a certification in Biochemical Kinesiology. It is exactly what helped me getting better. Yes it took 6 months before i got better but with a good diet and supplements I got back to the way I was before.During all that time I read a lot of books and here is good book written by two M.D.

Here is a really good book :"Why Stomach Acid is good For you!"
